Allow me to share my story with you.

The journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step.

A passion for personal development unlocked

My journey inward began 26 years ago, when I picked up my first self-help book.

A devastating breakup had caused such deep emotional pain that it left me feeling depressed.

As an emotionally sensitive person, I couldn’t bear the constant ache of my emotions. I felt desperate to find a way out of my suffering.

That self-help book saved me. It opened the door to many more that would guide me along the way.

Through that book, and through that heartbreak, a passion was awakened; my passion for personal growth. Life was never the same after that. A new chapter had begun -one filled with growth, healing and self-love.

What if there's another way?

I still remember that day as if it were yesterday. I was a 19-year-old young woman, feeling like I was going to drown in my own thoughts. Those thoughts grew heavier and darker by the minute. I was suffering. “If this is how life’s going to be, then I’d rather not be here anymore.”

As I stared at the wall, I felt defeated and hopeless. Then, suddenly, another thought appeared: “What if there’s another way?” That downward spiral slowly began to turn upward again. And I thought, “Yes, what if there’s another way that I don’t know about yet? I owe it to the people I love to at least find out if there really is another way.”

In that moment, despair shifted into possibility and determination.

The next day, I saw Iyanla Vanzant on The Oprah Winfrey Show. She said things that intrigued me and gave me the hope I had been searching for. As soon as I could, I went to the bookstore and bought her book Yesterday, I Cried. And oh boy, did I cry.

When I got home, I jumped onto my bed and started reading. The book begins with a poem titled “Yesterday, I Cried.” It was as if that poem opened the dam of my tears. I cried and cried until there were no tears left. “Ahh, this was what I needed — a good cry to release all that pent-up pain.”

It was as if God had thrown me a lifeline. That book saved my life, because it showed me that there truly was another way. It taught me that I had influence over my life experience. By transforming my inner world, I began to notice my outer world transforming too.
